15,000 Successes for SCN Member

One of our long time members doublex (SCN member since 2001) has reached an absolutely amazing milestone - he has recorded 15,000 successes by mail tracked in our database. It is the highest total of any member by quite a bit.
Over the years I have gotten to know doublex, and he is certainly a very passionate collector. He is a big Football (Steelers) and Baseball (Red Sox) fan. Amazingly, he is quite close to getting every football card from all of the Topps sets in the 1970's signed.
I can not even begin to tell everyone how he has helped so members enjoy this hobby. Thank you so much. You have certainly helped my collection and inspired me to be committed when I'd rather procrastinate. SCN wouldn't have been what it has been become without your sharing and contributions.
Here first are some answers to frequently asked questions that he has shared for us:
1- I type all my letters, I do not use a form letter, and I do handwrite the player's address on the envelope though (which does take considerable time and pen wastage). I prefer to use either a calligraphy pen, fine point Steadler, or a roller ball pen for this addressing work.
2- The total of 15,000 is individual SASES, not individual autographs, although I generally only send 1 item per request.
3- this is my total since 2001, I started collecting autographs in the mail in the summer of 1974, so I have no idea of how many I have in my life or how many autographs that I have in my collection. The combination of this site, Harvey Meiselman's lists, and a little more free time and money have definitely spurred me to a higher level of activity in the past decade.
4- My favorite baseball player to send to has been Al Kaline, and my favorite football player- probably John Mackey or believe it or not, Dick Butkus.
5- success #1 was LC Greenwood, #10,000 was Dan Rooney, #15,000 was Terry Kennedy.
